How many different ways can you say....

OK, Dear Reader, I'm back to making some regular posts, and here is today's:

I've just started watching "The Below"... new film on Sky Movies.

Scene: US submarine rescues 3 British survivors from some maritime mishap, and you see the gossip being passed backwards through the entire crew in a kind of "chinese whispers" or "bucket-brigade" fashion.

But... each time one person tells the next one that there are three British survivors, one of whom is a woman, they find a different way to say it. Such as:

Describing "3 brits", we have:
- "3 brits"
- "3 limeys"
- "3 redcoats"
- "3 bliteys"
and a couple that I've missed

Describing "1 woman", we have:
- "1 woman"
- "1 female"
- "1 bleeder"
- "1 bazoombas" (with hands held cupped in front of the chest for obvious reasons"
and a couple more that I've missed.

All in the space of 1-2 minutes panning along the length of the submarine as the word is passed.

Hmmm. Hands up anyone who thinks this is going to be a good film....

[Update: 20 minutes later]

They've just added "brillo pad" as another euphamism for "woman".

And this is by the directory of "Pitch Black". Oh dear.

[Update: at end of film]

Well, I'll give it.... 3 out of 10. It picked up a little bit as it went on, but still nowhere near Pitch Black quality. Don't bother unless you're really bored.
