I'm Using The Latest Technology... And It Rocks
No more fecking wireless.Having fucked around with the Xbox/Wireless/Laptop/DVD Burner to watch an episode of Heroes, I'd had enough.
So I invested in 2 Solwise 200MB "homeplugs" - the network connections that use the mains. £120 from Amazon. Yes, another £100-odd quid spent on networking gear. How many times is that? Let me think. ADSL. NTL. ADSL+wireless. NTL+wireless. Now this. Enough already!
And the transfer speed from laptop to desktop is phenomenal. Unfortunately, the Xbox network adaptor seems to be goosed, so I can't test that, but when I get it fixed, it'll stream slicker than Flyguys' patter.
Alas, with Battlestar, Heroes, The 4400 all off at the moment, there's no urgent need to get it fixed.

So the Xbox Ethernet connection is goosed, right, that makes some sense then....
Ha, me too, back to 100% ethernet. I'm Wired baby, all wired, cant beat it.
Damn xbox game adapter went on the blink also for me. Come to think of it, maybe Netgear have an internal clock in them to go tits up after a certain amount of time!
Mine was linksys. Used them through all the various permutations of equipment, and the gaming adaptor is bollocks. But admittedly, it's not the issue. Even laptop<>xbox didn't work via a cable, nor xbox<>homeplug.
Xbox needs to see the doctor.
