And So It Begins...
Up till yesterday, the wee man hardly said "What's that?", unless he heard something he didn't recognise.Today, he walks into a room and says "What's that?" pointing at a different thing each time. Sounds like a verbal machine gun going off...
It's part of the psychological development of a child:
The Discovery Phase
Ages: 2-3 years old:
Question: "What's that?"
The Cause-Effect Phase:
Ages: 3-5 years old
Question: "Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why?"
The Negative Cause-Effect Phase:
Ages: 5-12 years old
Question: "Why can't I?"
The Motivation Phase:
Ages: 12-16
Question: Who's gonna make me? Says who? Why should I?
The Consequences Phase:
Ages 16-25
Question: So what?
The Worldly-Weary Phase:
Ages: 25 till death
Question: Oh, what's the fucking point?
