My time is near

It's been a while since I posted, but it's that time. My 9 months are up, and the good lady has gone in to have the baby. This time next week at the latest, I'll be a dad.

Oh my god.

Whoever thought it would be a good idea for me to be a dad. I can only just wipe my own arse, never mind someone else's!

Ah well....

Bye bye wednesday night cinema and meal and magazine and chat with the gang. Well not much chat (given that the evenings are taken up with watching the film, stuffing our faces, and anti-socially reading mags) but you know what I mean.

Bye bye friday night out with the boys. Mind you, moving to the factory more or less killed that one. (Shame I'll miss the leaving do Madjock - I'll make it up to you!)

Bye bye once-a-year out with the boys at the games day, swiftly followed by a few jars.

Hello early nights (although to be fair, this started a while ago as 'er indoors started to get big). We're getting quite into our cocoa and crossword books, as it happens.

Hello disturbed sleep. Although as above, started a while ago. I've never been with anyone that goes to the loo so much, or snores so much.

Hello smelly nappies, projectile vomiting, and puke stains on my suit. Oh dear god...

Hello seeing the world through new eyes ...

Hello being the cornerstone of someone's personality and character...

Hello teaching the little one about stuff (life, people, astrophysics, sci-fi, Michelle Pfeiffer, whatever) ...

Hello being the dad from Calvin and Hobbes ...

Hello growing old together ...

Hey, maybe it won't be so bad after all :-)

PS. I read in an interview that Nicole Kidman is looking for someone "normal".

HEY NICOLE! MY MIDDLE NAME IS NORMAL!!!!
